Overland Certifies Gadzoox Networks’ Switches

Overland Data, Inc. , a mid-range tape automation solutions vendor, and Gadzoox Networks Inc., a storage area network (SAN) products company, today announced that Gadzoox Networks’ 1Gb and 2Gb switch products have been certified by Overland Data with the Neo series tape libraries and Fibre Channel Option card.


“Interoperability and certification testing is an essential requirement for our customers as they strengthen their networks to include or enhance disaster recovery plans,” said Clark Foy, vice president of sales and marketing, Gadzoox Networks. “As a result of intense industry focus on disaster recovery, we have been working with Overland Data to provide an interoperable value-based solution to the SAN market.”


“Recognizing the importance to our customers of fully tested solutions, Overland Data is proud to partner with Gadzoox Networks in an effort to ensure product compatibility,” said Chet Baffa, Overland vice president of sales. “Our Neo series and Fibre Channel Option card coupled with Gadzoox Networks’ Capellix or Slingshot fibre channel switches provide the market with a standards-based storage solution offering both high performance and value.”


The companies said that Gadzoox Networks 2Gb Slingshot family and 1Gb Capellix series of switches were tested with Overland’s Neo series tape libraries and Fibre Channel Option card in various SAN configurations with a variety of software and host bus adapter vendors .
