Gadzoox Networks Inc. today announced it will be demonstrating a heterogeneous SAN comprised of hardware and software products from storage providers including: Brocade, Crossroads, Emulex, HP, IBM, Microsoft, Overland Data, StorageTek, and VERITAS at Fall Comdex. The company said the main focus for the demonstration will be its new 2Gb Open Fabric Slingshot 4210 switch as part of a cluster solution running Windows 2000 Advanced Server and demonstrating redundant link fail-over and fail-back.

Gadzoox said LAN Free back-up will also be demonstrated running VERITAS Back-up Exec through the Gadzoox Networks Slingshot 4218 to both a StorageTek SCSI-based tape subsystem connected to the SAN through a Crossroads bridge (router), and an Overland Data fibre channel-based tape subsystem. Additionally, switch-to-switch interoperability will be demonstrated, highlighting inter-switch zoning, between Gadzoox Networks’ Slingshot switches and a legacy 1Gb Brocade Silkworm 2800.
