Procom and Seagate Partner for Enterprise Network Attached Storage Solution

Mar 22, 2001

Network Attached Storage (NAS) vendor Procom Technology and Seagate Technology today announced a partnership to deliver an enterprise-class NAS storage solution for business-critical applications to the market.

As part of the agreement, Seagate will supply enterprise Fibre Channel disc drives, which Procom will use in its recently announced NetFORCE(TM) 3200C Network Attached Storage product. The 3200C will run on Seagate’s high-density Fibre Channel technology for its back-end storage subsystem, accommodating 96 Cheetah hard disk drives.

According to Shawn Hook, Seagate senior manager for ESG product marketing, “The combination of our high-performance, highly reliable disc drive technology and the NetFORCE’s fault-tolerant, cluster-enabled NAS architecture gives users the peace of mind of knowing their business-critical data is well protected against downtime and data loss.”
