Quantum Delivers Super DLTtape Test Drives

Quantum Corp. announced it is delivering qualification units of its next-generation Super DLTtape drive, the SDLT 320, to systems and tape automation OEMs worldwide.


The company said the shipment of qualification units of the SDLT 320 marks a milestone in Quantum’s Super DLTtape product roadmap, unveiled last year. Quantum said the product roadmap ensures continuity of the Super DLTtape family of products, providing compatibility, reliability and investment protection of business-critical information through four generations to over 1 terabyte on a single cartridge. SDLT 320 technology will be showcased at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany, from March 13 to March 20.

The new SDLT 320 has a per-cartridge capacity of 320 GB compressed (160 GB native) and a transfer rate of 32 MB/s, 16 MB/s native. General availability of SDLT 320 products is expected in the second calendar quarter of this year.
