Tivoli software from IBM and Gresham Computing plc today announced StorageTek customers can now purchase Tivoli and Gresham products together to create a LAN-free storage management solution.
Available today through Tivoli Business Partners, the solution is targeted at StorageTek library users. It includes Tivoli Storage Manager, a LAN-free storage management solution and Gresham EDT-DistribuTAPE 6.3.
The companies said that by combining Tivoli Storage Manager with LAN-Free capabilities and Gresham’s EDT-DistribuTAPE SAN solution, StorageTek customers can take advantage of the Tivoli Storage Manager policy-based approach to storage management to maximize the utilization and scalability of their StorageTek tape library storage assets. EDT-DistribuTAPE allows multiple Tivoli Storage Manager servers and LAN-Free clients to dynamically share multiple tape drives installed in a StorageTek Enterprise Class Library environment.
