iPad and iPhone users around the world have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Apple’s latest mobile operating system, iOS 4.2. Most assumed it would happen today, but so far it hasn’t happened.
But as Enterprise Mobile Today reports, several websites and blogs are blaming an iPad Wi-Fi connectivity issue for delaying the expected release today.
While Apple never publicly disclosed when it would release iOS 4.2, numerous sites and sources indicated the plan was to release it this week just as Apple released the latest update to its Snow Leopard OS.
While everyone waits for Apple to set the record straight, the speculation continues to swirl.
Several prominent Mac-centric websites and blogs are reporting that a Wi-Fi connectivity bug affecting the iPad is preventing Apple from releasing iOS 4.2, the update to the mobile operating system powering its wildly popular iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch devices.
According to a posting on the MacStories website, developers who got their hands on the Gold Master release of the app have had trouble making and sustaining a Wi-Fi connections with their iPads.
