RIM’s BlackBerry Bold 9780 Set for Debut

Research In Motion this week unveiled the new-look BlackBerry Bold 9780, a new smartphone running the company’s latest mobile operating system that includes several new bells and whistles for the BlackBerry crowd.

As Enterprise Mobile Today reports, the BlackBerry Bold 9780 has HSDPA support for high-speed mobile broadband, the company’s QWERTY keypad for mail and messaging and some new tools that help organize and track correspondence on social networking site and RSS feeds.

The smartphone will be available on multiple carriers including T-Mobile which on Wednesday said it will offer the phone starting Nov. 17 for $129.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year contract.


Research In Motion today unveiled the BlackBerry Bold 9780, a new smartphone that includes the company’s revamped BlackBerry 6 mobile operating system and will initially be available on a number of different wireless carriers including T-Mobile in November.

Company officials said the 3G smartphone includes a 624-MHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera with image stabilization, a 2.4-inch, 400-by-360 display, 512 MB of flash memory (which can be expanded to 32 GB) and includes built-in Wi-Fi and GPS.
