Zend’s latest Update Has a Cloud Focus

  • Developers looking to make the move from the Web to the new generation of cloud-based applications, now have access to what may be familiar tools.

    As Datamation reports, Zend has introduced a new Zend Framework 1.1 PHP application framework with the cloud in mind. For example, a SimpleCloud API will be included which delivers a common API for cloud application deployments. The article also details support for mobile including cross-platform device deployment. Zend also announced availability of the Zend Studio 8.0 IDE.


    PHP has long been used as one of the primary languages for the Web. Now commercial PHP backer Zend is helping to position PHP for the cloud as well.


    At the ZendCon conference, Zend announced the general availability of the Zend Studio 8.0 IDE and the Zend Framework 1.11 PHP application framework. Both the IDE and framework include new cloud-focused features and are part of a new PHP Cloud Application Platform ecosystem that Zend is now building.
