Oracle to Bundle Symantec’s Visual Page

Oracle Corp. and Symantec Corp. announced a bundling
agreement today aimed at enabling customers to easily create enterprise
business applications.

Oracle will include Symantec’s Visual Page Web authoring program with
Oracle Application Server 4.0, which is currently in beta.

Oracle said the inclusion of the Visual Page HTML editor will allow users
to easily move business documents and crucial company information to the Web.

Under the agreement, Oracle can bundle a copy of Visual Page with each
Oracle Application Server 4.0 Developer Kit License beginning this quarter.

“Rapid application creation is a key requirement for the deployment for
Web-based business applications,” said Peter Relan, vice president of the
Application Server Products Division at Oracle. “Symantec’s Visual Page will
help our customers expedite application deployment and modification with an
easy-to-use environment based on the scalable and secure deployment
capabilities of Oracle Application Server.”

Oracle Application Server 4.0, which is designed to support all network
clients including PCs and network computers, is a software platform for
deploying business-critical, thin-client applications.
