HOUSTON, May 23–Business software company BMC Software
said it would buy Israeli-based OptiSystems
Solutions for $70 million cash. BMC, whose software allows companies involved
in electronic commerce to monitor their systems and spot potential
problems, said the OptiSystems
purchase will allow it to offer a product that manages SAP AG’s SAP R/3
software, which runs transaction, database, and inventory software.

announced that it has sold all business and assets of The College Press
Network (CPNet.com) to
Colleges.com. Ilife.com will
continue to focus its direction on personal finance content by selling The
College Press Network, a provider of college-focused Internet-based content
and advertising solutions for online college newspapers. The buyer, Colleges.com, is the creator of the
“Virtual Campus” community and a provider of Internet-based commerce and
services to the college and university community and is the publisher of
“U.”, the National College Magazine. Specific terms of the sale were not
disclosed.

Europe, announced it has acquired a 50% interest in BuyThisFast, the
world’s first online Convenience Shopping Network. The addition of BuyThisFast to ci4net.com’s Econet will directly benefit
ci4net.com’s partner companies by giving them access to a proprietary ad
serving technology and leverage of the power of “affiliate” marketing to
form a new
revenue stream.
