In March, one of Europe’s biggest automobile magazines, Auto-Bild, established an Internet site for new and used cars, where enthusiasts can select their dream car from among 3000 new cars online.

The site allows customizing with 150,000 technical specifications and 500,000 optional extras.

A portrait gallery with 3000 pictures lets surfers download a picture of the (new) car. Site visitors can also either look at what’s on the market or search for a particular model.

The system includes price, performance and fuel consumption etc. in the search for the right car. For those interested in new cars, there are online applications for individual leasing or financing deals. Potential clients can contact the dealer at a click of the mouse.

Using a client’s postal code, inquiries are passed on to the nearest of 300 linked car dealers in the area concerned. If the client wants to get rid of his old car at the same time, the integrated used car assessment system will provide the list price from the German Automobil Treuhand GmbH, without charge or obligation.

The Auto-Bild catalog on the Internet is a joint project by Auto-Bild and AFB Software GmbH. Further information on the catalogue can be obtained from the online editorial staff at Auto-Bild or from AFB Software. Auto Bild is a sister publication to Bild Zeitung, Germany’s biggest popular daily newspaper.
