Lycos Launches Asian Presence

Lycos Inc. announced today it has joined
with leading Korean Internet service provider LG InterNet to launch Lycos Korea, the
latest in a line of international sites unveiled by the search and
navigation service.

Lycos Korea will feature Lycos’ search and navigation technology customized
for the Korean market in the country’s native language.

Under the agreement, Seoul-based LG InterNet will run the daily operations
of the site, and be responsible for the integration of local content, sales
and marketing, and administration.

“The establishment of Lycos Korea is a very important step for us as we
seek to become the premier Internet Online media company in Korea,” said
Yang Dong Lee, President of LG InterNet, said in a statement today.

“The first step for us is to make Lycos Korea the premier search and
navigation service in Korea. I am confident that we can achieve this not
only by providing advanced navigation services based on Lycos’ technology,
but also by bundling the local content and community features that are
being developed by LG InterNet.”

LG InterNet is a division of the LG Group, one of South Korea’s biggest
conglomerates.
