EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Oct. 12–CarParts.com announced its
second acquisition of the year, privately held CR Computing
Solutions, a provider of inventory and business management systems for
warehouse distributors and jobbers in the automotive aftermarket parts
industry, for an undisclosed number of CarParts shares. Based in San Juan
Capistrano, CR Computing Solutions develops and markets a comprehensive
suite of wireless technologies and web-enabled software applications that
manage inventory, point of sale, accounting, ordering, shipping and other
activities unique to warehouse and jobber operations. Together, CR and CarParts will further lower the cost of
warehouse and jobber operations by allowing manufacturers, WDs, jobbers and
installers to engage in fast, accurate and secure online transactions with
customers and suppliers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 12–Overstock.com, the Internet leader
for name brands at clearance prices, announced its acquisition of
Gear.com, the No. 1 closeout sporting goods e-tailer, and its $2.5
million purchase of Miadora.com and
Jewelry.com’s inventories. Under the terms of the acquisition, in return
for an undisclosed amount of stock, Overstock.com will obtain all of Gear.com’s stock, and with that, its
inventory valued at an estimated $14 million retail, which will be added to

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Oct. 12–Affinity International Travel
Systems announced that it has signed a letter of
intent to acquire Miami based StarTravel Group, d/b/a Star Travel.com, an Online Internet
Travel Company that is focused on the rapidly growing and underserved U.S.
Hispanic and Latin American market and also the exclusive travel provider
for QuePasa.com . The acquisition is expected to
not only open a new market for Affinity, but also allowing them to expand
its services to the European countries of Spain and Portugal at least a
year earlier than previously planned. Terms of the transaction were not
disclosed.
