Worldtalk Corp. announced the availability of E-mail Surveillance Program (ESP), which is thought to be the industry’s first
e-mail-specific security assessment solution.

ESP is made to help organizations detect any weaknesses in their e-mail networks that could make them vulnerable to viruses, spamming, e-mail-bombs, or the exchange of unprotected proprietary
information over the Internet.

“ESP is a market education program,” said Ari Newman, Worldtalk’s product manager for ESP. “We designed the service offering to help organizations quantify their exposure and measure the risks associated with Internet e-mail. ESP will help identify the appropriate countermeasures and security
solutions.”

Based on Worldtalk’s WorldSecure Server, ESP has the ability to analyze
risks, picking up any irregularities such as misuse of resources,
bandwidth-intensive messages and sensitive document disclosures, the firm stated. It can even
distinguish between business-related and non-business-related messages
going to and from the organization.

ESP presents the data it collects in the form of a detailed report. The service
is available immediately from Worldtalk’s Security Force and its certified
WARP partners. (To become a WARP partner, resellers should call (800)
660-5502 for a free reseller kit.)
