Cisco Tags U.S. as Spam Leader

It is a dubious distinction indeed. In its annual mid-year security report, Cisco has labeled the United States as the most prolific originator of spam e-mail.

Additionally, Cisco found that an alarming number of respondents to the survey said that they don’t respect their companies’ security policies concerning the use of social media. eSecurity Planet takes a look.

Networking giant Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO) released its 2010 mid-year security report Thursday, identifying current trends in technology security and risks. Spam, which has been a concern since the beginning of the Internet era, continues to be an issue in 2010 and the U.S. is the leading culprit.
