LAS VEGAS — Twitter is a great tool for microblogging and conversation. It might also be a platform that is teaching us bad habits that might be making us all less secure.
In a session titled “Ready, Set, Attack,” at Interop, Roel Schouwenberg, senior anti-virus researcher at Kaspersky, talked about how users are being exploited today.
In his view, Twitter is making us all a little less secure.
“On Twitter, you are expected to trust everything that comes your way, with TinyURLs and links,” Schouwenberg said. “You just click on something, and you don’t know what’s on the other end — it could be real or it could be a malicious website…”
