3M Signs with the Ultimate in Sticky Sites

The 3M Adhesives Division contracted with what must be the ultimate in sticky
Web sites, AdhesivesMart.com.

3M will receive leads generated by visitors to
what is claimed to be the world’s largest online searchable database of
industrial adhesives.

By agreeing to have its products included in this database, 3M will receive
qualified sales leads for its distributors and worldwide sales force.
Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

AdhesivesMart serves as a middleman between purchasers and suppliers of
industrial adhesives. Using sophisticated software, it asks potential
purchasers a number of questions about their requirements and then matches
the responses to specifications from among thousands of adhesives products
from a broad range of suppliers.

“We believe customers appreciate the impartiality that AdhesivesMart offers
and recognize that today we cannot offer this type of service,” said channel
market manager Eric Prestrud, who is in charge of e-commerce activities for
3M’s Adhesives Division. “We are still in the early stages of our
relationship, but we are pleased with the leads and service we have received
thus far.”
