Cendant Software Selects InterWorld to Commerce-Enable Sites

Cendant Software, the multimedia software business unit of Cendant Corp., selected New York-based InterWorld Corp. to integrate its consumer entertainment and educational Web sites into a secure, multi-merchant enterprise-class environment.

Cendant Software will use InterWorld’s Commerce Exchange to integrate the
back-office functionality of Blizzard Entertainment, Knowledge Adventure, and
Sierra, Cendant Software’s entertainment and education software companies.
Financial terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.

The move will provide consumers with a richer shopping experience, complete
with up-sells, cross-sells, showcases, and unique pricing and promotions
across each storefront, Cendant said.

“We want to make it easy for our customers to purchase our software online or
through retail. In the online arena, we focus on ensuring that our customers
enjoy transaction security and timely delivery, and that the ordering process
is quick and easy,” said Douglas Chey, Chief Technology and Information Officer at Cendant Software.

Said Alan Andreini, president and COO of InterWorld: “Commerce Exchange’s
Process-Centric Computing Model will enable Cendant Software to swiftly and
securely extend their entertainment and educational sites onto the Internet
without redesigning their core business practices.”

Cendant Corp. is the result of the December 1997 merger between CUC
International and HFS Inc., creating a business and consumer services company
focused on real estate, travel and membership.
