INTERSHOP
Communications Inc., a provider of electronic commerce software,
launched an Independent Software Vendor program designed for third party
developers who integrate complementary technology with the company’s products.
The program will extend INTERSHOP’s core technology platform, the firm
said, by offering customers integrated products and services in such areas
as Web marketing, payment processing and transaction solutions, online
advertising, electronic software distribution, Web-based customer service
applications, broadband cable technology, auction capabilities, discount
engines, and rich media imaging, the company said.
More than 22 companies have signed ISV contracts with INTERSHOP, including:
Acuity Inc., Automated Transaction Services, Baggy Systems, COMET Systems
Inc., CosmoCom Inc., eCharge, eFusion, InterX Technologies Inc., LinkExchange,
Live Picture Inc., Local Universe, Inc., Merchant Support Network, NetCall
Telecom, Ltd. and Release Software.
There is no fee for qualified partners to join the ISV program, which is
part of the recently announced INTERSHOP CommerceTeam initiative.
CommerceTeam is a suite of channel partner programs designed to help
developers, hosting providers and resellers maximize the potential of
e-commerce.
“We grant participants access to our sales channels and the widely
recognized INTERSHOP brand, which gives them increased visibility in the
industry,” said Petra Vorsteher, INTERSHOP’s vice president of business
development and strategic alliances. “In turn, exciting new technology adds
value to our
core products and makes INTERSHOP a one-stop provider for all e-commerce
needs.”
Benefits for ISV participants include advance copies of major releases,
access to distribution channels, password-protected areas of the Web site,
attendance at tradeshows, a bi-monthly newsletter, and a free copy of
INTERSHOP’s Developer Edition.
