Lowestfare.com, a division of Global
Discount Travel Services, began a multimillion dollar co-branded
sponsorship program with theglobe.com to expand the reach of the
travel site.

In addition to the Web site, the company operates a direct call reservation
center and has travel agency partners that have sold more than 1.7 million
tickets on all major airlines since its inception. The company has now
broadened its product line to include hotels, car rentals, as well as
discounted tour packages and cruises.

Under the terms of the agreement, Lowestfare.com will be the exclusive content
provider for all travel-related services on theglobe.com’s site. The travel
company is headed by Carl C. Icahn, former chairman of TWA.

“We decided to emphasize our unique 20% (guaranteed) discounted
product on a major air carrier as well as the discounts we negotiated with
other airlines,” Icahn said. “Theglobe.com is a fast growing online
community and we expect
to substantially increase our exposure by aligning ourselves with them.”

Members of theglobe.com will have the opportunity to automatically become
members of Lowestfare.com, enabling them to receive customized travel deals
and receive free “Cool Mail,” a product that allows users to retrieve and
respond to their e-mail messages via phone from anywhere in
the world.

The alliance will kick off with a sweepstakes that will offer new members
registering at
theglobe.com the chance to win two free airline tickets. theglobe.com will
provide additional promotional links to Lowestfare.com’s content through
texts, buttons and banner ads. Lowestfare.com will also offer members of
theglobe.com exciting travel prizes and promotions throughout the term of the
agreement.
