The Stibo Group, a
provider of
product information publishing solutions, said it signed a strategic
partnership and reseller agreement with Open Market Inc.

The deal will allow Stibo to provide end-to-end solutions for its customers
who need large-scale product information publishing and management systems
integrated
with Internet commerce capabilities. Financial arrangements were not
disclosed.

By offering integration of Stibo’s STEP Electronic Publishing technology and
Open Market’s Live Commerce Web catalog, the partners are providing a
single-source
solution for companies that provide catalogs and other sales material across
both print and electronic media, and that want to have full e-commerce
capabilities, the firm said.

“The solutions delivered by this partnership solve one of the major problems
facing companies selling over the Internet, the lack of consistency between
information published in print and CD-ROM catalogs, datasheets, and other
sales material and that displayed on the Web site. Teaming Stibo’s STEP with
LiveCommerce makes the transition to Web commerce a more realistic economic
proposal for businesses because the full solution for publishing and Web
commerce is in one integrated bundle,” said Ken Karegeannes, vice president of
marketing and business development.

“Both companies have been targeting the same customers with synergistic
products and services; this partnership increases sales efficiency for both
companies while providing the best possible start-to-finish multiple media
catalog and Internet commerce solution for our customers,” said Gary Eichhorn,
president and CEO of Open Market.
