HP Converges for Helion Rack OpenStack Cloud System

Ken Won, director HP Helion optimized cloud solutions, explained to ServerWatch that the starting configuration for Helion Rack includes HP Helion OpenStack,  HP Helion Development Platform, (9) HP ProLiant DL 360 servers (for running HP Helion OpenStack, HP Helion Development Platform and compute servers) and (2) HP ProLiant DL 380 servers for storage and rack.

The Helion Rack offering is the first time HP has bundled servers with software to provide a converged integration platform.

In 2011, HP debuted its AppSystem approach that provided a converged application-focused server platform product. Won commented that AppSystem was designed as an integrated solution for supporting specific applications.
