Adaptec Inc. and Nishan Systems today announced that Nishan’s new IP Storage switches and Adaptec’s SCSI and Fibre Channel host bus adapters are interoperable.

In tests with both companies’ products, Adaptec’s 39160 and 2940U2W SCSI host bus adapters (HBAs) and AFC-9110G Fibre Channel HBA were connected through Nishan’s IPS 3000 and IPS 2000 switches to native SCSI and Fibre Channel storage devices.

According to the companies, the tests confirm end-to-end interoperability that can be extended to a full SAN implementation using IP and Gigabit Ethernet. As additional IP Storage products become available, customers will be able to easily incorporate them into their IP SANs and migrate to a total, native IP SAN solution.
