Benchmark Storage Innovations, Inc. today announced the addition of Mitsumi Electric Co., Ltd. as a strategic manufacturing partner for Benchmark’s line of DLT products. Mitsumi will be joining Beyonics Technology Ltd. (formerly URACO) as a Benchmark manufacturing source.

“As Benchmark continues to execute on its original business mission, we are proud to add Mitsumi, a world-class manufacturer, to our group of esteemed partners,” said Lew Frauenfelder, Benchmark’s CEO and president.

“Mitsumi is pleased to partner with Benchmark, a storage company that has emerged as the rising leader in data protection,” said Tomoaki Iida, general manager, International Sales Division, Mitsumi Electric Co., Ltd. “Benchmark exemplifies the type of world-class organization we want to be associated with as we drive our own business model.”

“We are pleased that Benchmark is working with Mitsumi with whom we have a long-standing and successful relationship,” commented Neville Pawsey, general manager, HP Network Storage Solutions Bristol. “The HP DLT vs80 tape drive introduced earlier this month will benefit from Mitsumi’s proven ability to manufacture high-volume quality tape products.”
