Bluewater and EMC Team Up On ICON

Apr 9, 2001

Bluewater Information Convergence, Inc. and EMC Corporation have announced plans to integrate EMC’s storage technology into Bluewater’s outsourced ICON data center solution.

Howie Lyke, president and chief operating officer of Bluewater, said, “EMC’s technology is a perfect fit for our ICON data center because it allows us to deliver the gold standard in storage, database and production support to our clients. By combining EMC’s technology with the added value of our people and processes, we can leverage this technology to build the most efficient data infrastructure possible.”

Bluewater’s ICON service offering includes a Staging and Development Service, which, according to Bluewater, is designed to stabilize an enterprise application as it moves from staging to a live production environment, providing instant “gold” copies of production environments. Also part of the ICON, is a base level storage service for 24x7x365 availability, centralized storage management, capacity on demand, capacity management and SLA reporting.
