Brocade Communications Systems Inc., a provider of infrastructure for SANs, and VERITAS Software Corp., announced an expansion of the partnership between the two companies. VERITAS Software and Brocade said they will collaborate to deliver increased education services for SAN technology for IT professionals.

According to the agreement, VERITAS Software will become an Authorized Brocade Education Partner and will offer Brocade SAN education courses through the 21 U.S. VERITAS Education Services Centers and 16 others around the world. VERITAS Software expects to offer Brocade education courses to its customer base beginning in September 2001, and through this partnership, Brocade education courses will be made available across North America, Asia Pacific, and Europe.

“As more and more companies recognize the high value SANs bring to their businesses, creating a highly trained pool of IT professionals is essential to creating SAN solutions that meet the needs and requirements of businesses today and in the future,” said Tony DeCicco, vice president of Professional Services for VERITAS Software. “This expansion of the partnership between VERITAS Software and Brocade will increase the options and improve the quality of SAN education for our mutual customers worldwide.”

“We are delighted to partner with VERITAS Software to expand the reach of Brocade SAN education services worldwide, said Dave Smith, Brocade vice president of Worldwide Support Services. Through our partnership, we can help to ensure that the highest quality education services are available to our mutual customers, helping them reduce SAN implementation time, and increase their understanding of the benefits of implementing high value storage management applications in a Brocade environment.”
