Drobo Debuts New SMB Storage Options

Drobo has built its name offering storage solutions for consumers. But with its latest release, the company is looking to move into the SMB market.

Drobo has released new eight- and 12-bay small business storage devices, tapping into the company’s BeyondRAID technology that abstracts the data from its physical hardware.

“We virtualize the underlying physical storage,” said Kevin Epstein, Drobo’s vice president of marketing. “That said, users are presented with volumes and a choice of formatting options.”

The new devices, which can support solid state drives, represent Drobo’s most powerful storage offerings to date.
