Publishing Vendor Selects ATTO Fibre Channel Adapters

Mar 26, 2001

ATTO Technology recently announced that printing and publishing company Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG selected ATTO’s ExpressPCI Fibre Channel host adapters to drive its prepress Storage Area Network (SAN).

According to ATTO, ExpressPCI Fibre Channel host adapters will integrate with Heidelberger’s Jetbase, a turnkey production database, and Prinergy software, a PDF-based workflow management tool for service bureaus, repro shops, publishing houses, commercial printing shops, and catalog printing shops with an in-house prepress department.

“As customer demand for storage capacity continues to surge, we at Heidelberg are pleased to recommend a high-performance interoperable SAN solution,” said Burkhard Stopp, Heidelberg product manager. “With ATTO’s leadership in storage connectivity and superior understanding of the unique bandwidth and capacity demands of the content creation environment, it was a natural fit to select the ATTO ExpressPCI Fibre Channel host adapters for our Storage Area Network.”
