SAN Valley Names Coackley President and CEO

SAN Valley Systems announced changes to its management team that it says position the IP-SAN networking company for growth and expansion.

Robert Coackley has been appointed president and CEO, and joins the company’s board of directors. Former CEO, Sandy Helton, who drove the restructuring with other SAN Valley founders, has been named to the newly created position of chief technology officer and executive vice president. Additionally, Niraj Jain’s position has been expanded to vice president of marketing and business development.

“Bob Coackley, who has had a distinguished career with an impressive 40-year track record in the networking, telecommunications and IT industries, is the ideal person to move us to the next stage of growth,” said Roy Sardina, SAN Valley’s chairman of the board. “Bob’s experience as a CEO and leader in driving companies to consistent financial growth and profitability is a testament of what is to come for SAN Valley. Further, the timing is perfect for Helton’s and Jain’s respective appointments, as SAN Valley transitions from a technology startup to an established player in the SAN networking space.”

Helton remains a member of SAN Valley’s board. In his new position, he will focus on strategic planning and product architectures. “We have strengthened the executive team for optimal financial growth as we move forward, and my new position affords me the opportunity to more closely direct the company’s future technology developments,” Helton said. “These changes will ensure our success in the next phase of our growth and, as the IP-SAN arena grows, SAN Valley will continue to pioneer next-generation connectivity solutions and deliver the highest-quality products into the marketplace.”

“SAN Valley is changing the paradigm of SAN connectivity, and I’m pleased to be on-board to help expand the company’s worldwide reach from the Fortune 500 to the Global 2000,” said Coackley. “I look forward to working closely with the executive team to solidify our product and business models with an eye to long-term success. Our first priority will be to expand delivery to our customers of cost-effective, IP-SAN products that enable wire- speed SAN-to-SAN connectivity.”
