StorageTek(R) today announced that SAP AG has selected StorageTek Shared Virtual Array(TM) (SVA(TM)) disk subsystems to support its mainframe production and test processing needs with two StorageTek 9500 SVA disk subsystems.
“SAP chose StorageTek SVA because we recognized that StorageTek has leading experience with virtual technology and provides one of the most reliable solutions available,” said Herbert Schuhmacher, data center service manager for SAP AG. “Functionalities like SnapShot and log structured file techniques give us the flexible and dynamic storage infrastructure we are looking for. By installing StorageTek SVA, we have a technology that is cost-effective, saves vast amounts of space and is a smarter, faster overall solution.”
StorageTek said its recently opened Competence Centre at the SAP Partner Port in Walldorf, Germany, would further enhance the existing global technology partnership signed between the two companies in October 2000.
