McAfee, a division of Network Associates , announced Wednesday that Future Com, a provider of network management and security solutions is to offer all of McAfee ASaP Web-based managed security services.

FutureCom, which has been offering McAfee’s software and hardware solutions for the last five years, will now offer McAfee ASaP services that include gateway and desktop anti-virus, vulnerability assessment, firewall and virtual private networking (VPN).

Sean Stenovitch, president of Future Com says that McAfee’s success in providing security technology via the Internet was reason for them to provide the additional AsaP services: “The services allow us to offer our customers comprehensive security solutions that enable them to concentrate on growing their business rather than the latest virus outbreak or security vulnerability,” he says.

McAfee says the recent Code Red and Code Blue Worms were unwelcome reminders to businesses that security vulnerabilities and viruses continue to evolve, making it increasingly important for them to ensure information is protected. However, it say many firms many lack the expertise or the resources to install and manage security solutions in-house.

“Future Com has been a valued McAfee partner for some time and we are pleased that they have extended the relationship to offer their customers the McAfee ASaP managed security services,” says Sal Viveros, marketing director for McAfee ASaP.

The McAfee ASaP family of services include: VirusScan AsaP, VirusScreen AsaP, WebShield e500 AsSP, PGP Security’s CyberCop AsaP, PGP Security’s Firewall MSP. The services are currently utilized by over 6,000 customers, across 750,000 desktops.
