International e-commerce outsourcer Digital
River has won the contract to provide e-c hosting services to Beamscope Canada Inc.
Digital River
is offering an e-commerce solution to Beamscope’s roster of 7,000 retailers who are interested in selling products online. The partnership is part of
Digital River’s strategy to provide B-to-B commerce services that
support online product sales via large retail and distribution channels.
Digital River will host and manage online stores for Beamscope’s channel
partners, allowing the company to centralize channel control while
providing custom-designed online dealer stores
that give retailers Web-based access to Beamscope’s consumer electronics
products.
Through Digital River’s channel management system, Beamscope
will enable its retail network to leverage
its systems for order tracking, payment, inventory management, and
physical distribution.
Digital River previously helped Beamscope develop its new ECHO (E-Channel HOsting
services) program through which retailers can provide online shopping to
their customers. Beamscope’s online offerings include consumer
electronics, computer products and Electronic Software Delivery (ESD),
which enables digital delivery over the Internet to the desktop.

customers. They’ll be able to enter a new retailing opportunity at a
fraction of the cost or commitment normally associated with an
e-commerce set-up,” says Larry Wasser, Chairman and CEO of Beamscope.
