PCWebopaedia.com Joins Internet.com Network

Mecklermedia Corporation today acquired PCWebopaedia.com from Rockport, MA-based Sandy Bay Software.


A critically acclaimed dictionary and search engine of hi-tech
terms on the Internet, PCWebopaedia.com will be incorporated into the Internet.com network, the leading source of real-time news and information resources for Internet professionals and Web developers.


The acquisition is expected to drive Internet.com’s monthly page view count past the 9 million mark.


Under the agreement, Mecklermedia also acquired the co-branded versions of PCWebopaedia.com on America Online and ZDNet, as well as related electronic mail services. Westport, CT-based Mecklermedia is the publisher of InternetNews.com.
