LONDON, May 9–Reuters , the global
information and news group, has agreed to acquire The Yankee Group
Research from Primark Corporation for $72.5
million in cash. The Yankee Group
is a leading international technology research and advisory firm, based in
Boston which focuses on providing highly specialized research in sectors
essential to e-business: the Internet, e-commerce, telecommunications and
wireless.

LONG BEACH, May 9–Netgateway , an
e-Business Services Provider, and Galaxy Enterprises , jointly announced the filing of an S-4 Registration Statement
with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Netgateway will acquire Galaxy Enterprises for approximately
3.9 million shares in an all-stock merger, involving approximately six
tenths of one share of Netgateway shares for each share of Galaxy
Enterprises.

provider of broadband educational services and content to schools and
communities nationwide, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement
to acquire LearningGate.com, a leading provider of Web-based
educational tools, with headquarters in Dublin, Calif. ZapMe! will leverage LearningGate’s valuable products and
services to facilitate and stimulate much-needed communication among
teachers, students and parents. Consideration will be in the form of a
combination of cash and securities totaling approximately $5 million.

LONDON, May 9–allCars.com, majority owned by
ci4net.com , the Econet 4 Europe, announced that
it has acquired the businesses of West Midlands Vehicle Rental,
which operates nationally throughout the U.K. with an established fleet of
more than 700 cars. This acquisition will enable visitors to ci4net.com’s
travel site will now be able to
access more comprehensive car rental services through allCars.com. Financials were not
disclosed.
