Spree, HotBot in Shopping Pact

Spree.com Corp. announced a strategic alliance with Wired Digital’s HotBot under which Spree.com’s movie, electronics and long distance phone service offerings will be promoted on the HotBot Shopping Directory.

Financial details were not disclosed.

In addition, Spree will offer unlimited-sized Web sites on HotBot’s search site, and also on Wired’s Webmonkey and Web 101 developer resource sites.

Spree said as part of the agreement it is also creating a
free gift reminder service for users of HotBot Shopping Directory which is slated to go live this week.

Spree.com is essentially a Web marketplace where online stores sell books,
music, movies, and flowers, and where specialty shops offer brand-name
electronics, gifts, and coffee and tea.

In Spree’s affiliate program, Spree Independent Partners (SIPs) earn
commissions for each purchase made and lifetime commissions on purchases
made by their visitors. Towards this end, SIPs are provided with free
marketing promotions and banners and earn commissions on product lines such
as movies, books, flowers and coffee. In essence, Spree.com said it runs
the virtual store, and SIPs own it.

“There is no better affiliate program around,” said Lance Roncalli, Spree.com’s vice president of Business Development. “S-I-P pays out the highest commissions and our partners own their referrals for life. No other retailer or affiliate program offers its visitors and members a free Web site with unlimited space.”
