Avnet Computer Marketing’s Hall-Mark Division, a value-added distributor of enterprise computing products, software, storage and services, this week announced the launch of its Enterprise Storage and Network Solutions business in Europe.

As a result of Avnet Inc.’s acquisition of VEBA Electronics Group last year, two units of VEBA became part of Avnet Hall-Mark to form its new Enterprise Storage and Network Solutions (ESNS) division: Transformation Software Ltd. in the United Kingdom and Raab Karcher Electronics’ Enterprise Storage Division in Germany.

In charge of the new div

ision is Rick Terry, general manager of Enterprise Storage and Network Solutions, who joins Avnet Hall-Mark from ADIC.
“Rick Terry brings over 10 years of experience in the Storage field to the Avnet organization,” said Amir Mobayen, executive vice president for Sales and Marketing at Avnet Hall-Mark Europe. “With European experience obtained from managing ADIC’s software business and his extensive knowledge of the distribution channel, Rick is a great asset to Avnet Hall-Mark. I’m excited to welcome him to this new role and I am confident that he will greatly contribute to the growth of our ESNS division and our customers and suppliers in Europe.”

“The Enterprise Storage and Network Security markets continue to grow at a rapid rate. The Printer Solutions market is one of the most profitable businesses in Europe,” said Terry. “One of my objectives is to expand these businesses with new suppliers and territories. This offers exciting growth prospects to our customers and suppliers, and Avnet Hall-Mark is well positioned to ensure that the reseller community can take advantage of these opportunities.”

The company said its ESNS division will supply Enterprise Storage, Network Security and Printer Solutions from world-class vendors. The Storage offering includes, among other brands, IBM, StorageTek, VERITAS, Computer Associates, ADIC, Tivoli, HDS and SAN infrastructure vendors such as Emulex, Vixel, Gadzoox and Chaparral.

Avnet Hall-Mark also said it plans to provide a variety of services to augment the skills of their resellers, including pre-sales consulting, specification, configuration and installation services for hardware and software, as well as training classes for resellers and the resellers’ end-users customers.
