CommVault Systems Announces EMC Fastrax Support

CommVault Systems, a provider of enterprise data management solutions, announced its CommVault Galaxy will support the EMC Fastrax(TM) data movement platform with Microsoft(R) Exchange 5.5 and 2000.


The company said that the combination of CommVault Galaxy software and EMC Fastrax would enable fast, reliable data protection that minimizes backup impact for customers deploying EMC Fastrax with EMC Symmetrix(R) in Windows 2000 and NT environments.


“As a member of EMC’s E-Infostructure Developers Program, CommVault works closely with us to provide mutual customers with enterprise data and storage management solutions,” said Linda Wright, senior director of Global Alliances at EMC. “CommVault Galaxy support for EMC Fastrax is a proof of our commitment to providing EMC customers with high-performance information protection solutions that meet their data access and availability needs.”


“Our solid relationship with EMC and our industry-leading expertise with Microsoft applications and platforms allows us to further demonstrate our leadership in providing Windows-based data management solutions,” said Eric Rice, director of Business Development for CommVault Systems. “Integration of our Galaxy software with EMC Fastrax provides a tested and qualified solution for mission-critical Exchange environments that lowers total cost of ownership and leverages the value of EMC world-class service and support.”


Available CommVault solutions include Galaxy support for EMC TimeFinder software and qualification with CLARiiON(R) IP4700 network attached storage systems. CommVault Galaxy for Fastrax is available immediately. Pricing starts at $5,000 per Exchange server.
