Companies Deliver Microsoft Data Center Solutions

EMC Corp. and Avanade Inc. announced a global alliance to provide Microsoft Windows customers with an information infrastructure that enables them to efficiently consolidate and update network servers and associated information. As part of the alliance, Avanade and EMC will participate in joint professional services engagements and development activities for Windows 2000, SQL Server, and Exchange customers.

“The combination of Avanade’s expertise and EMC’s offerings will allow customers to better capitalize on Microsoft solutions in the data center,” said Frank Hauck, EMC’s executive vice president of Global Sales and Services. “As customers look to deploy Microsoft technology, it is critical that they have a solid information infrastructure. By working with Avanade, EMC will provide customers with another outlet in which to deploy world-class technology and the expertise to scale it while their information needs continue to grow.”

“The storage requirements for Microsoft-based environments are growing at a rapid pace and EMC is the leader in delivering innovative solutions that help customers in this market better manage and utilize their information,” said Mitch Hill, Avanade’s CEO. “The combination of EMC’s leading storage solutions and Avanade’s consulting expertise using Microsoft products will offer customers a compelling solution for all of their storage infrastructure needs.”

As part of the alliance, EMC and Avanade are at Computer Associates (CA) World this week to demonstrate an application that uses EMC’s Symmetrix as well as Microsoft’s SQL Server, Data Center and next-generation .NET technologies.
