Pioneer-Standard Electronics, Inc.’s Computer Systems Division, a distributor and reseller of mid-range computer systems, service and support, this week announced it has been authorized as Compaq’s first partner to provide Storage Area Network (SAN) Implementation Services.

“Our experience in storage area networks is unmatched,” said Bob Bailey, senior vice president of Pioneer-Standard Electronics, Inc. “Our team of professionals has completed an extensive Compaq certification testing process and has the technical and professional service experience to truly architect and implement complex SAN solutions. As the industry leader in delivering SANs, Compaq is setting the standards to ensure customers receive a highly reliable, scalable and modular solution that delivers high performance and investment protection.”

As a Compaq subcontractor, Pioneer-Standard’s Professional Services Group (PSG) will implement the program ranging from pre-installation consulting and planning to verification testing and orientation. PSG will service customers that purchase a SAN solution either from CSD’s distribution business, KeyLink Systems(R), or from Pioneer-Standard’s Enterprise Sales Group.

In addition, Pioneer-Standard’s PSG offers services that include storage workshops, Compaq SAN QuickStart planning, storage management and data migration services.
