Storage area network vendor QLogic Corp. and storage solutions provider INRANGE Technologies announced a long-term agreement to develop scalable SAN solutions.

As a result of the new, expanded agreement, INRANGE will serve as an OEM for QLogic 8, 16, and 32 port “edge” switches, including the upcoming QLogic SANbox2 line of 2 Gb-based products, and will market QLogic HBAs as an integral part of their SAN solutions.

These QLogic products, combined with INRANGE’s director, optical networking and channel extension technologies, provide customers with the most complete solution available for building high- availability SANs from the network edge to the core, and for extending network traffic to any location, over metro and wide area networks.

In addition, INRANGE has selected the QLogic 2 Gb Fibre Channel components, including the 16 port switch-on-a-chip ASIC, as building blocks for the FC/9000 2 Gb implementation, expected to be available at the end of 2001.
