A new browser app is heading to the iPhone. Lunascape, a Japanese browser firm that combines the rending engines of Microsoft, Mozilla and Apple, is rolling out a scaled-down version of its flagship product to Apple’s popular smartphone.

It’s called iLunascape Lite, but in accordance with Apple’s rules, the browser Lunascape is offering in the App Store doesn’t combine the various engines like the PC version. Still, Lunascape claims that using the Firefox synching service it is offering a full-featured browser for the iPhone. Enterprise Mobile Today has the story.

Japanese browser vendor Lunascape develops a unique kind of Web browser that contains the Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Gecko and Apple WebKit rending engines. Lunascape calls their browser a triple-engine browser and it’s now coming to the iPhone, in a limited capacity.

Officially called the iLunascape Lite for iPhone browser, the app is now available as a free download from Apple’s App Store. Don’t expect to get three browsing engines on the iPhone though. Apple won’t allow it.
