Canada Post, Cybersurf Deliver Free Internet Access

[Calgary, CANADA] Canada Post has partnered with Calgary-based
Cybersurf Corp. to offer a CD-ROM product that allows Canadians to get connected and use unlimited free Internet access on the 3web network.

In the first phase of the partnership, the CD which sells for $9.95, will be available in some 900 postal outlets across the country. It is custom tailored for Canada Post customers, providing a branded Internet home page that includes single-click access to Canada Post’s current Internet-based services, including Postal Code Look-up, the Electronic Post Office, eParcel and the Go Shopping directory. Users also can personalize their home page with links to sites they want to consult regularly.

3web is Canada’s first and largest free Internet and e-mail service. Its reach extends to Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Winnipeg, St. Catharines, Halifax, Windsor, St. John’s, Sudbury, Saint John, Montrial, Quibec City, Chicoutimi, Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivihres, Hamilton, London, Kitchener and Oshawa. 3web currently supports over 430,000 users. Its network covers 570 local access areas and reaches close to
70 percent of all Canadians.
