[Toronto, CANADA] – Equityengine.com Inc. and Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Ltd. have negotiated a strategic alliance to accelerate incubation of Internet start-ups through Equityengine.com.

Equityengine.com Inc. is an online incubator and start-up community offering members equity in Internet start-up companies in exchange for time and knowledge. The alliance lets Equityengine.com and HP Canada co-venture on new Internet start-ups, participate in co-marketing efforts, leverage HP technology and improve time to market for entrepreneurs seeking incubation support.

“Equityengine.com developed its automated Internet incubation platform using HP technology,” said Lynn Anderson, vice president of Enterprise Marketing for HP Canada.

Equityengine Inc. is working with HP under its HP Garage Program which is meant to help Internet start-ups, dot coms, ASPs, e-service providers and trading communities speed time-to-market, preserve capital and prepare for hypergrowth. Through the program, HP provides a set of tools and services, as well as up to US$2 million in financing. The program supports start-ups in building, running, marketing and financing their businesses.

With offices in Toronto, Canada and San Jose, California, Equityengine.com has a membership of over 2000 skilled professionals working to build Internet companies in exchange for equity. HP Canada has more than 1,300 employees at 21 locations across Canada.
