Last year treated VeriSign well, as the firm boasted a solid uptime record amid notable cyberattacks and with DNS queries up 22 percent.
Then, too, revenues were up 13 percent in the fourth quarter, and 10 percent for all of 2010, VeriSign said this week.
But 2010 was also about laying the groundwork for major initiatives that will occupy much of VeriSign’s attention this year, including enabling DNSSEC, a key to preserving the reliability and security of the Internet.
In addition, VeriSign is expecting to expand a business line comprised of assisting companies with the translation issue between IPv4 and IPv6, as that migration figures to be a prevailing current in IT over the coming year.
