SAN Valley and Quantum Bridge Partner

SAN Valley Systems(TM) and Quantum Bridge(R) Communications this week announced a partnership agreement to provide an integrated storage connectivity solution.

The companies said the partnership includes joint sales and marketing, and provides a combined solution for carriers and enterprises seeking to extend their options for Storage Area Networking (SAN) connectivity and high-speed performance.

Specific products for the initial joint offering initially include the SAN Valley SL1000 IP-SAN Gateway and the Quantum Bridge QB8000(TM) Optical Edge Switch, which the companies said were exhaustively tested and demonstrated interoperability in labs at both SAN Valley and Quantum Bridge facilities. San Valley and Quantum Bridge also plan to conduct interoperability testing between the SAN Valley SL1000 and the Quantum Bridge QB5000(TM) Optical Access Switch.

“Through this relationship, Quantum Bridge and SAN Valley are expanding the market for storage networking,” said Scott Conner, director of business development at Quantum Bridge. “The combination of PON and DWDM transport with SAN Valley’s IP-SAN Gateway results in an affordable storage networking solution for large and small businesses alike.”

“The Quantum Bridge/SAN Valley solution is ideally suited to customer needs in SAN connectivity,” said Niraj Jain, vice president of marketing and business development for SAN Valley. “Managed IP bandwidth delivered via flexible and innovative optical access solutions is the key enabler for high- performance SAN extension to support disaster recovery and resource consolidation.”
