Auspex Systems Inc., a provider of Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions, announced that its new NS3000 series of enterprise data servers has passed verification tests confirming compatibility with Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 2000 Server, Exchange Server 5.5, SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition and Internet Information Server 5.0. The tests were conducted by VeriTest, a service of Lionbridge Technologies.
The test results confirm that Auspex NS3000 file servers work reliably with Microsoft servers. The tests were based on compatibility specifications published by Microsoft and test plans developed by VeriTest for the specific Microsoft applications involved.
“Large companies that have many users accessing enterprise data simultaneously are attracted to Network Attached Storage because it not only consolidates data into a central storage pool for easy management but also provides significant performance benefits by relieving general-purpose servers of file-serving duties,” said Jim Garvey, vice president of Engineering for Auspex Systems. “By verifying that it is safe to store Windows 2000, Exchange 5.5 and SQL 2000 files on NAS servers, these test results confirm the dependability of Network Attached Storage for the Windows community.”
“The ‘Verified by VeriTest’ independent testing program sets a simple standard for quality assurance, giving enterprise end users confidence that a defined software and hardware solution works properly,” said Rory Cowan, CEO of Lionbridge. “Only products that pass rigorous compatibility, functionality and stability verification earn the right to leverage the ‘Verified by VeriTest’ logo.”
