Seagate subsidiary XIOtech Corporation and IP storage companyNishan Systems this week unveiled a qualified storage data replication solution using the XIOtech MAGNITUDE(TM) SAN hardware platform and Nishan IP storage switches.
XIOtech and Nishan will jointly sell this solution, which they said enables customers to use IP network connections for high-speed remote data replication over virtually any distance. The partners said companies now have the option of using fibre channel or IP networks to connect MAGNITUDE platforms at multiple locations using XIOtech’s REDI SAN Links software. .
“Performance testing and product certification by forward-thinking companies such as Nishan Systems and XIOtech is building industry confidence in the distance capabilities of IP storage networks,” said Dan Tanner, senior analyst at Aberdeen Group. “IP storage network performance and interoperability validation opens the way for wider general IP storage network adoption – even for critical storage applications, such as remote mirroring.”
